Utsav! A Festival of Punjabi Culture
Union Square, 6-9 p.m.
Free Punjabi food, yoga, Kirtan music, a “Try-On-A-Turban (or Sari) Photo Booth” and short films will be featured in Union Square, in a collaboration between the Gurdwara Sikh Sangat Society, the Somerville Arts Council and SCAT.
Saturday, Sept. 11
Local Roots Food and Music Festival at The Community Growing Center
$20, 5-10 p.m.
Groundwork Somerville will be hosting music and food as a fundraiser to support its programming. Mark Santoro, Dylan Chace, DJ Marco Andre and Christian McNeill and the Redeemers are on the bill, with Rebones and Dave’s Fresh Pasta serving food.
