The Manhattan Short Film Festival at The Center for the Arts at the Armory

A unique global film event is coming to the ‘Ville this Friday: the annual Manhattan Short Film Festival will be screening short films at the Center for the Arts at the Armory. The goal of the film festival, whose motto is “One World – One Week – One Festival”, is to unite audiences around the world through the shared experience of watching the same selection of short films. Like the audiences, the films have been created by filmmakers across the globe. Tickets are $9.75 at the door.

Oktoberfest in Davis Square

It’s time to strap yourself into your favorite lederhosen and dust off your largest stein, because it’s here: Oktoberfest! The intersection of Elm and Chester in Davis Square will be transformed into a family friendly beer garden this Sunday, with musical performances by the Mad Bavarian Brass Band, bratwurst and beer. Diva Indian Bistro, Redbones, The Foundry, The Burren, Mike’s Food and Spirits and Joshua Tree will all be participating.
